Las Vegas, Beyond the Strip

Why the most misunderstood luxury destination in America deserves a second look.

Las Vegas, Beyond the Strip

Las Vegas has an image problem, and it is one the city has largely earned. But spend a week here the way our editors do and a different place emerges: a city of championship golf in canyon light, of chef-driven dining rooms that would hold their own in Paris or Tokyo, of Formula 1 weekends and residencies that never tour.

The secret is sequencing. Arrive Thursday. Stay somewhere with a real suite. Play golf before the heat. Eat late. Let the night find its own pace.

Where to stay

The Venetian remains the smartest base on the Strip: every room is a suite, and Sphere is at the back door. Paris Las Vegas, quietly renovated, is the romantic alternative directly opposite the Bellagio fountains.

Where to eat

Bourbon Steak at the Four Seasons for the serious steak dinner; Stubborn Seed for the tasting menu; Sadelle's for the brunch that starts the best days.

"These are the places SWAGGER would actually send you."

What to book early

Sphere residencies, Serket Golf Club access and any table at Stubborn Seed on a weekend. Ask us.
